A woman allegedly armed with two knives following a fight at an Anaheim laundromat was killed in an officer-involved shooting Sunday, police said.

Officers were investigating a possible stabbing during a fight between two women, one reported to be armed with a knife, about 5:30 p.m. at a laundromat in the 900 block of south Euclid Street, Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn said.

As they arrived at the location, witnesses said the suspect had left and entered a nearby apartment complex in the 900 block of South Roberts Street, which was across an alley from the laundromat, Dunn said.

They contacted the woman and ordered her out of the apartment complex, but she refused to comply, so crisis negotiators were summoned, but before they arrived, the suspect came out armed with two knives, according to the lieutenant.

“And that’s when the officer-involved shooting occurs,” Dunn said.

The woman was hit and taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Dunn said.

The condition of the person with whom the suspect had been fighting was not immediately known, he said.
