A 27-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle collided with car at a Huntington Beach intersection, a police sergeant said Tuesday.

The Orange County Coroner’s office identified the man as Chad Wojno of Huntington Beach.

The accident happened around Warner Avenue and Sculpin Lane about 10:30 a.m. Monday, said Huntington Beach Police Sgt. David Dereszynski.

“Arriving officers located  a red 2005 Honda 600RR motorcycle and a gray 2009 Toyota Venza car near the intersection,” Dereszynski said.  The motorcyclist died at the scene. The 80-year-old Huntington Beach woman who was driving the Toyota was uninjured, he said. She remained at the scene and was released after interviews by investigating officers.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the Honda motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Warner when it collided with the Toyota car, which was exiting a driveway at 6771 Warner Ave.,” Dereszynski said.
