A former Orange Unified School District teacher’s aide pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two teenage girls and will begin serving a year-long jail sentence next month, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
Richard Nolan Green, 28, of Yorba Linda, was also placed on three years of formal probation and ordered to under “sex-specific counseling” for at least one year, said Deputy District Attorney Ann Fawaz.
Green, who pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony charges of statutory rape, possession or control of child pornography and lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, she said.
In June 2014, Green started having a sexual relationship with a 15-year- old who he met through family friends. When the girl’s parents found out, they called sheriff’s deputies.
Green — who was a teacher’s aide for at-risk students — met the second victim — a 17-year-old girl — at a wedding and engaged in a sex act with the teen on April 1, 2013, Fawaz said.
The child pornography charge stemmed from photos that Green took of the 15-year-old, Fawaz said.
Green must begin his one year behind bars on July 10. He has no prior criminal record, and authorities are hoping he will benefit from counseling, Fawaz said.
