A 32-year-old Placentia man was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting and beating his live-in girlfriend with a bat and clubbing her teenage son when he tried to defend her, police said.
Jackee J. Jeffries was angered Friday night when his girlfriend did not want to have anal sex and when she “got away from him,” he grabbed a baseball bat and struck her several times with it, Placentia police Lt. Eric Point said.
The woman’s teenage son tried to intervene, prompting Jeffries to attack him with the bat as well, Point alleged.
The teenage son managed to escape with minor injuries, but the woman suffered a broken arm, hand and a significant laceration to the head that required hospitalization, Point said.
Jeffries was charged with forced sodomy, corporal injury on a cohabitant, dissuading a witness by force and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, all felonies. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of disobeying a domestic relations court order.
Jeffries also faces sentencing enhancements for the use of a deadly or dangerous weapon and inflicting great bodily injury on the victims.
Jeffries scheduled arraignment today was rescheduled for Dec. 4. He was being held in lieu of $275,000 bail.
