A lucky pregnant chihuahua was safely with her family Wednesday after being rescued from a house in Buena Park damaged by a fire that displaced a family of seven.
No one was injured in the fire, which was reported at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in a single-story home in the 8100 block of Lime Circle, according to the Orange County Fire Authority, which battled the blaze along with counterparts from the Anaheim Fire Department.
Thirty firefighters responded to the scene and knocked down the flames in 15 minutes, the OCFA reported.
It’s believed the fire started in a bedroom, according to OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi.
The dog, a pregnant 2-year-old Chihuahua mix, was unharmed and has been reunited with the family of six adults and one child, Concialdi said.
The family declined to be assisted by the Red Cross, opting to stay with family members instead, Concialdi said.
