A lucky adventurous woman was recovering Tuesday with a fractured ankle after a dramatic helicopter rescue from a secluded shoreline in Laguna Beach where she was trapped and threatened by a rising tide.
The woman got into the fix when she jumped off a rock ledge at Table Rock Beach and injured her left ankle, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.
Her friends called for help as the tide began to rise Monday afternoon on the Memorial Day holiday, Concialdi said.
A county fire helicopter was flown to the scene and managed to airlift the woman to a local hospital with only a fractured angle, he said.
