An arrest has been made in connection with a man’s stabbing death at a gas station in Santa Ana, police said Tuesday.

Logan James Cunningham of Long Beach, 27, was arrested on Monday in Long Beach after police there responded to a home to investigate a domestic disturbance, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Cunningham is suspected of fatally stabbing 40-year-old Jason Paul Torres of Costa Mesa on Sunday night.

Officers responded to the Shell Gas station at 710 E. Dyer Road, near Grand Avenue and the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway, at 9:10 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a stabbing, police said.

They located Torres, who was taken to a hospital and subsequently pronounced dead.

Detectives had identified Cunningham as the homicide suspect.

Cunningham was turned over to Santa Ana police and booked on suspicion of homicide. He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, police said.

Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive for the stabbing.
