A body found in bushes behind the US Bank in Mission Viejo was that of a woman, authorities said Friday.
“We don’t know who she is or her race,” Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Mark Stichter told City News Service. Investigators were awaiting autopsy results to determine her cause of death and how long she was dead.
The death was being investigated as “suspicious,” Stichter said. The body was found on an embankment next to the 5 Freeway.
Someone reported seeing the body about 3:15 p.m. Thursday behind the U.S. Bank branch at 25972 Muirlands Blvd., according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Nathan Wilson.
