“When I was first approached with this, I saw it as a great way to give back to a tennis community that has meant so much to me,” Eric Davidson said. “My dad Gary was involved with World Team Tennis during its inception in 1973, so coming full circle now and owning the Breakers is really pretty neat.”
Davidson said he is looking “forward to putting a championship caliber product on the court and providing our fans with a first-class environment to watch professional tennis.”
Davidson is a Southern California native who earned a degree in history in 1983 from UC Berkeley and worked in real estate until founding Vintage Senior Living, a company that owns apartment complexes for senior citizens.
Davidson has played and ranked at a senior level in tennis, according to the team, and still plays for fun a few times a week.
“Eric’s credentials and business acumen speak for themselves, but it’s his tennis background and credibility in this community that makes this ownership transfer so exciting,” said Breakers General Manager Allen Hardison.
