
The Orange County Health Care Agency’s assistant director was promoted to lead the agency, effective Friday.
Richard Sanchez will succeed Mark Refowitz, who is retiring.
Sanchez has worked in the agency for the past 12 years. He has more than 30 years of experience as a public official and previously led Sacramento County’s Environmental Health Department.
Sanchez earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from UC Irvine and a master’s degree in public health from Loma Linda University.
