Four people were taken into custody early Tuesday following a brief Santa Ana police pursuit that ended with the vehicle being chased crashing into the back patio of a Fountain Valley residence, police said.

The crash happened just after midnight on Newhope Street near Holly Avenue, said Santa Ana police Cmdr. Matt Sorenson.

Police had attempted to stop the gray Toyota in Santa Ana for a traffic violation but the driver failed to comply and a minute-long chase ensued, climaxing in the crash, he said. No one was hurt.

Four people were taken into custody and firearms were recovered in the vehicle, Sorenson said.

There was no word if residents of the Fountain Valley home were sleeping at the time of the crash or even in the structure.
