A 46-year-old man was killed in a wrong-way collision on Beach Boulevard in Midway City early Monday that left the other driver hospitalized with major injuries.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was northbound in a 2008 Toyota Yaris in the southbound lanes of Beach Boulevard, just south of Bishop Avenue, when the compact car slammed into a 2001 Toyota 4Runner about 12:40 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Duane Graham.
The driver of the 4Runner, a 77-year-old woman whose name was not released, was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center, Graham said.
