Two families were displaced by a two-alarm fire at a town home in Huntington Beach, but no one was injured, authorities said Friday.
The fire was reported at 10:48 p.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of Coast Circle, according to Capt. Steve Teasdale of the Huntington Beach Fire Department, which responded along with units from the Orange County Fire Authority and Fountain Valley Fire Department.

“The first arriving fire company reported heavy black smoke coming from a third-story window of a three-story town home,” Teasdale said.
“A rapid fire attack was initiated to control the blaze and more resources were called. As additional resources arrived on scene, conditions of heavy smoke with low visibility and high heat were reported by the firefighters inside the structure.”
The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes, according to Teasdale, who said no one was at home at the time of the fire.
“Two families have been temporarily displaced due to the damages but there were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported, he said.
The blaze was initially reported to be boat fire in a slip in the harbor, Teasdale said.
Responding resources were rerouted once the correct location was ascertained,” he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
