An 8,000-gallon fuel leak occurred Wednesday at a Chevron gas station.

Huntington Beach firefighters sent a hazardous materials team to the station at 17881 Gothard St. about 6:15 a.m. to assist Chevron personnel, according to Huntington Beach fire Capt. Steve Teasdale.

The leak involved a truck that arrived at the station Wednesday morning to replenish its gasoline supply, Teasdale said.

Firefighters sprayed foam on the fuel to suppress the vapors, he said, and were working to get fuel out of the truck.
