A traffic stop led to a non-injury officer- involved-shooting Monday in Garden Grove, according to authorities.

The OIS began when police pulled over a vehicle at 11521 Salinaz Dr. in the area of Newhope street, south of Trask Avenue about 1:40 p.m., the Orange County Register reported.

As officers approached the car, the OIS took place, the newspaper reported.

It’s unknown who fired first or what precipitated the shooting. No one was hit by the gunfire. It’s unknown if anyone in the car that was stopped was arrested or if a gun was recovered at the scene.

No one from the Garden Grove police was available for comment.
