The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent for the second consecutive day Saturday to $3.761.
The average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, but 9.1 cents higher than one month ago and 69.1 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 61.1 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price remained unchanged Saturday at $3.726, one day after dropping two-tenths of a cent. It is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, but 9.8 cents more than one month ago and 67.1 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 61 cents since the start of the year.
“The California Energy Commission is reporting the highest level of gasoline stocks in three months and local refineries reportedly have completed their planned maintenance,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager. “Both those factors are good indicators that prices could … head back downward soon.”
