A 25-day streak of falling gas prices in Los Angeles County ended Saturday when the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the county remained the same at $3.667, its lowest amount since May 1.

The average price had dropped 9.4 cents over the past 25 days, including two-tenths of a cent on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak of decreases was the longest since a 27-day run from Nov. 25-Dec. 21.

The average price is 1.8 cents less than one week ago and 9.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 74.4 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 51.7 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose two-tenths of a cent Saturday to $3.618, one day after remaining unchanged to end a streak of 19 consecutive decreases.

The 19-day streak of dropping prices was the longest since a 37-day streak from Nov. 15-Dec. 21.

The Orange County average price is 1.9 cents less than one week ago and 11.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 72.6 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 50.2 cents since the start of the year.
