The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Tuesday for the 49th consecutive day, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.46, its lowest amount since March 13.

The average price has dropped 41.7 cents over the past 49 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 7.4 cents less than one week ago and 28.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 30.5 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 31 cents since the start of the year.

The streak of decreases is the longest since a 92-day run from Oct. 2, 2014-Jan. 1, 2015.

The Orange County average price dropped Tuesday for the 20th consecutive day and 47th time in the past 48 days, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.402, its lowest amount since March 9. It has dropped 42.1 cents over the past 48 days, including six-tenths of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 7.7 cents less than one week ago and 28.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 30.3 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 28.6 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
