Three people were hurt when a red BMW sedan crashed into a street pole and parked cars in Anaheim leaving one of the patients trapped and bleeding inside, authorities said Monday.
The crash was about 10:55 p.m. Sunday at Broadway and Greenwich Street, Anaheim Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Chris Richichi said.
Two men and a woman were taken to trauma centers and the woman was trapped 10-15 minutes while firefighters used the jaws of life to free her, Richichi said. She was in critical condition.
Video from the scene showed firefighters working to free the bloodied woman from the front passenger seat.
While the cause of the crash was under investigation, “just slow down, especially in residential areas,” Richichi said.
Neighbor Alejandra Gutierrez told a news videographer at the scene the crash “sounded like an earthquake.”
