Four people were injured Saturday morning in a head-on collision on the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Santa Ana involving a wrong way driver, who was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The suspect was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of the Santa Ana Freeway near First Street at 1:30 a.m. when a collision with a second vehicle occurred, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Paramedics responded and took four people who were in the second vehicle to the hospital in unknown condition, the CHP said.

The driver of the wrong way vehicle was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, ABC7 reported.

The ages, genders and names of the victims were not disclosed.
