Mike Bloomberg’s campaign announced Tuesday that Rose Kapolczynski, a veteran Democratic campaign and communications strategist with more than three decades of experience working in West Coast politics, is joining the team as Senior Advisor for California.

“Mike Bloomberg has the experience and the grit to defeat Donald Trump and deliver on the progressive policies our country needs,” said Kapolczynski. “I’m proud to join Mike’s campaign to take our country back starting with California on Super Tuesday.”

As president of Rose Kapolczynski Consulting, Kapolczynski has managed campaigns for dozens of local, state and federal candidates and political organizations. She is the President of the American Association of Political Consultants, and a volunteer mentor to women candidates through Emerge California.

Chris Masami Myers, California State Director for Mike Bloomberg 2020, released the following statement: “Rose’s breadth of experience, expertise, and results- oriented approach are going to add great value to our campaign. We are excited to have her join our team and take on this challenge.”

Kapolczynski is best known for managing all four of former Senator Barbara Boxer’s Senate campaigns, from her initial upset victory in 1992 to her final race against Carly Fiorina in 2010. Kapolczynski’s work in 2010 earned her the national Most Valuable Player award from the American Association of Political Consultants.

Among others, Kapolczynski has provided strategic planning and communications services to Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, Aspen Institute’s Initiative on Financial Security, California Wild Heritage Campaign and the Washington State Association for Justice. In 2016, she managed the largest voter registration drive in California history for NextGen Climate, successfully registering more than 800,000 new voters.
