Two men, traveling in a possibly stolen vehicle, were killed Thursday evening in a crash in Garden Grove after fleeing deputies in Stanton.
Deputies attempted to pull over the vehicle they believed was stolen near Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard in Stanton about 5:50 p.m., according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver, who had at least two other men in the car, fled deputies then crashed into a tree or power pole about two miles away, near the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Magnolia Street in Garden Grove, Braun said.
One man died at the scene, and another died at a hospital, according to Braun. A third man from the vehicle was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The names of the deceased were not released.
