Katrina Foley was sworn in to the Orange County Board of Supervisors Friday, declaring “expanded vaccine rollout and establishing a framework of public transparency” among her top priorities for her first 100 days in office.
Foley said she would seek to establish public transparency through weekly briefings, town halls and satellite offices.
Foley also used her speech at the Hall of Administration to pledge to continue to address the needs of homeless individuals and veterans. She also reiterated a commitment to clean energy, cleaner and quieter skies and protection of the coast.
Foley won the special election March 9 to fill the Second District seat vacated by Michelle Steel’s election to the House of Representatives. Foley is expected to seek a full four-year term in 2022.
Foley was Costa Mesa’s mayor and a member of its City Council before being elected to the Board of Supervisors.
The Second District consists of Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Stanton, the unincorporated area of Rossmoor and portions of Buena Park and Fountain Valley.
