A heated argument turned deadly between neighbors at a Santa Ana mobile home park, and a 36-year-old suspect was charged Tuesday with murder.
Alfonso Jassogarcia was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for the discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury or death.
While authorities said the killing appeared to be the result of a deadly dispute, they did not provide any details of the nature of the argument.
Jassogarcia is accused of shooting 45-year-old Jose Luis Solis of Santa Ana in a dispute Friday night, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Police were called just before 9 p.m. Friday regarding the shooting in a mobile home park in the 3100 block of West 1st Street, Bertagna said.
When officers arrived they found the victim with gunshot wounds to his upper body, Bertagna said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The defendant and victim were neighbors who got into some sort of dispute, but it’s unclear what it was about, Bertagna said.
Jassogarcia left the scene and drove to the police department where he surrendered to officers, Bertagna said.
