The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent Saturday for the third consecutive day after changing by one-tenth of a cent or being unchanged for four consecutive days.

The average price of $4.387 is a half-cent less than one week ago but 3.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.177 more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen $1.155 since the start of the year.

The average price dropped one-tenth of a cent on Sunday, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday and Wednesday and was unchanged Tuesday.

The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $4.356, one day after recording its largest daily decrease since Oct. 3, eight-tenths of a cent. The average price is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 4.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.161 more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen $1.148 since the start of the year.
