A pedestrian was struck by at least one vehicle Monday morning on the Orange (57) Freeway in Fullerton, and the fatality resulted in the closure of all southbound lanes through the morning rush hour period, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 5:05 a.m. on the southbound 57 Freeway at the Imperial Highway eastbound on-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally injured person, who died at the scene.

All southbound lanes were closed for about four hours while an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of the death, the CHP reported.
