Flames charred the garage of a condominium in the Mesa Verde area of Costa Mesa Sunday and smoke damaged the adjacent two-story unit.
The fire was reported just after noon in the 3000 block of Club House Circle, said Costa Mesa Fire Department Capt. Joseph Noceti.
Arriving firefighters helped residents of the attached home get out and contained the flames to the garage, Noceti said.
Smoke from the fire damaged the attached home and spread to a couple of other units, he said.
Two patients were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, he said.
