It took 64 firefighters less than one hour to stop a quarter-acre brush fire that burned in grass and heavy brush in Montecito Heights Thursday evening.
The fire was reported at 8:38 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Via Arbolada, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
The firefighters stopped the forward progress of the fire at 9:20 p.m. and spent about an hour making sure all hot spots were out, Stewart said.
No injuries were reported.
Much of Los Angeles County was under a red-flag warning for high fire danger Thursday due to strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity.
