Two days after a major storm soaked much of the Southland, more raindrops began falling in the area Thursday afternoon, though not with nearly the same ferocity as the earlier weather event.
The National Weather Service said Thursday’s precipitation was expected to diminish Thursday night, with gusty Santa Ana winds developing Friday into Saturday, along with warmer temperatures.
“A weak system continues to slowly move through the area today, dropping light rain as far south as Ventura County this afternoon,” the weather service said Thursday.
While some areas of the Southland were experiencing light showers Thursday afternoon, “some areas may not actually get any measurable precip,” the NWS said.
The weather service categorized the Santa Ana winds expected Friday and Saturday as “low grade,” with the strongest gusts landing Friday night into Saturday morning.
Advisories were in effect for the L.A. and Ventura county valleys and mountains, with peak gusts expected around 45 mph.
Sunny skies were in the forecast for Friday, with highs in the low- to mid-60s. The sunny skies were expected to last through the weekend before another “wet weather pattern” moves into the area next week, the weather service said.
