The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Sunday to its highest amount since Nov. 30, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.974.
The average price has risen five consecutive days, increasing 4.2 cents, including a half-cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The increases follow a run of four decreases in five days totaling 2.2 cents.
The average price is 4 cents more than one week ago and 12.2 cents higher than one month ago, but $1.484 less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.52 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.
A four-day streak of increases totaling 4.1 cents that boosted the Orange County average price to its highest amount since April 19 ended with a decrease of three-tenths of a cent to $4.915. It is 2.7 cents more than one week ago and 11.2 cents higher than one month ago, but $1.493 less than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.544 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.
The national average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.59, the fifth consecutive increase following an eight-day streak of decreases totaling 3.7 cents. It has risen 4.5 cents over the past five days, including six-tenths of a cent Saturday.
The national average price is 3.7 cents more than one week ago and 5.1 cents higher than one month ago, but $1.414 less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.426 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14.
