The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Sunday to its highest amount since Dec. 4, increasing 1.1 cents to $4.899.

The average price has risen nine consecutive days, increasing 10.6 cents, including 2.4 cents on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 10.4 cents more than one week ago and 21.8 cents higher than one month ago, but 1.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.595 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since Nov. 22, increasing 1.1 cents to $4.87. It has risen seven times in eight days, including 3.4 cents Saturday. The Orange County average price is 11.5 cents more than one week ago and 24.8 cents higher than one month ago, but 1.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.589 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose eight-tenths of a cent to $3.346, the seventh consecutive increase following a run of eight decreases in nine days. It has risen 8.4 cents over the past seven days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Saturday.

The national average price is 19.6 cents more than one month ago, but 4.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.67 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
