The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County remained unchanged Saturday at $5.316, two days after the end of a 30-day streak of increases.
The average price is 1.5 cents more than one week ago, 46.3 cents more than one month ago, and 46 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.057 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $3.676. It is 4.3 cents more than one week ago and 16.1 cents more than one month ago, but 1 cent less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.34 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“The situation overseas with war in both the Middle East and Ukraine has the oil market on edge,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager.
“But this is also the time of year we may see a bit of a lull in gasoline demand between the end of spring breaks and ahead of Memorial Day so the national average for gas may waffle a bit with small increases, some flat days, and even some price dips.”
