The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.564.

The average price is 4.1 cents less than one week ago, 20.5 cents less than one month ago and 63 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.93 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose a half-cent to $4.485, one day after a streak of 11 consecutive decreases ended when it was unchanged. It is 3.8 cents less than one week ago, 20.2 cents less than one month ago and 66 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $1.974 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 15th straight day, falling a half-cent to $3.445. It is 2.9 cents less than one week ago, 9.9 cents less than one month ago and 39.6 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.571 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

“With Tropical Storm Debby drifting up the I-95 corridor to visit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the threat to Gulf Coast oil production and refining is over,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. “But tensions in the Middle East and some overseas economic uncertainty may mitigate any drop in oil prices.”
