A California Highway Patrol officer suffered minor injuries Tuesday when a patrol vehicle was rear-ended in a hit-and-run while stopped on the right shoulder of the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway in the Anaheim area.

According to the CHP, the officer was conducting a traffic stop near Euclid Street about 8:15 a.m. when the black-and-white patrol vehicle was struck by a blue Nissan pickup truck that kept going.

The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the CHP reported.

The Nissan pickup truck became disabled and was found in the area, but the driver fled on foot and was being sought, the CHP reported early Tuesday afternoon. The man was described as being about 5 feet 7 inches tall, and he was wearing a white shirt and blue shorts.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the CHP Westminster Area office at 714-622-3600.
