The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County ticked up one-tenth of a cent Wednesday to $4.404, its fifth straight increase after dropping to its lowest amount since July 28, 2021.

The average price is the lowest it’s been on Christmas Day since 2020. It is 3.4 cents more than one week ago, but 5.9 cents less than one month ago and 31.7 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.09 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $4.338, also its lowest amount on Christmas Day since 2020. It is 4.8 cents more than one week ago, but 4.5 cents less than one month ago and 25.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.121 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $3.04. It is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 1.6 cents less than one month ago and 8.7 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.976 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
