The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped eight-tenths of a cent Saturday to $4.487, its lowest amount since Jan. 17.
The average price has fallen 11 of the past 12 days, dropping 7.1 cents, including nine-tenths of a cent Friday, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 16.1 cents less than one month ago and 19.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.006 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $4.433, its lowest amount since Jan. 23. It has dropped nine of the past 10 days, decreasing 5.9 cents, including 1 cent Friday. The Orange County average price is 3.2 cents less than one week ago, 12.8 cents less than one month ago and 16.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.025 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service reports that imported gasoline and high refinery utilization rates are keeping supply steady in Southern California,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement released Thursday.
The national average price dropped 1 cent to $3.145. It is 1.2 cents less than one week ago, 6 cents less than one month ago and 35.8 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.871 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
