The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Tuesday to $6.165, one day after a six-day streak of decreases totaling 5 cents ended when it rose two-tenths of a cent.

The average price is 4.3 cents less than one week ago, but 13 cents more than one month ago and $1.362 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has risen $1.471 since the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on Feb. 28, moving within 32.9 cents of the record $6.494 set Oct. 5, 2022. It

The Orange County average price dropped for the 12th time in 13 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $6.106. It has dropped 8.6 cents over the past 13 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Monday.

The Orange County average price dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18. It is 6.6 cents less than one week ago, but 12 cents more than one month ago and $1.391 higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen $1.47 since the attack on Iran, moving within 35.3 cents of the record $6.459 set Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the fifth consecutive day, decreasing 1.6 cents to $4.491. It has dropped 7.3 cents over the past five days, including eight-tenths of a cent Monday.

The streak of decreases follows a four-day streak of increases totaling 5.1 cents.

The national average price is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, but 39.2 cents more than one month ago and $1.312 higher than one year ago. It has risen $1.509 since the attack on Iran, moving within 52.5 cents of the record $5.016 set June 14, 2022.
