The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the 29th time in 30 days, decreasing 2.1 cents to $5.541, its lowest amount since March 13.

The average price has dropped 62.5 cents over the past 30 days, including 2.5 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased 27 consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.

The average price is 14.7 cents less than one week ago and 62.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 90 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 41st time in 42 days, falling 2.4 cents to $5.406, its lowest amount since March 12. It has dropped 78.6 cents over the past 42 days, including 2.5 cents Tuesday.

The Orange County average price dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18. It is 15.2 cents less than one week ago and 71.2 cents lower than one month ago but 83.7 cents more than one year ago.

The 33-day streak of deceases to the national average price ended with an increase of two-tenths of a cent to $3.928. It fell 63.8 cents during the streak, including three-tenths of a cent Tuesday.

The national average price is 9.7 cents less than one week ago and 58.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 70.4 cents more than one year ago.
