A bicyclist was hospitalized Sunday after being struck by an SUV in Rowland Heights.
The crash occurred about 10:45 p.m. at Colima Road and Batson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The cyclist was awake and breathing when CHP officers arrived, and taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment of what was described as a major injury to one leg.
The driver of the SUV reportedly remained at the scene.
A little over six hours earlier, the CHP responded to a similar incident involving a bicyclist-versus- pickup truck crash, also in the San Gabriel Valley. Further details about that collision were still unavailable.
