The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday for the ninth consecutive day, increasing 1.1 cents to $5.705.
The average price has risen 6.3 cents over the past niine days, including nine-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.7 cents more than one week ago, four-tenths of a cent higher than one month ago and $1.099 greater than one year ago.
The average price has increased $1.011 since the start of the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on Feb. 28, which sent oil prices higher and drastically accelerated increases at the gas pump.
The Orange County average price also rose for the ninth consecutive day, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $5.653. It has risen 7.8 cents over the past nine days, including four-tenths of a cent Wednesday.
The Orange County average price is 6.1 cents more than one week ago, 1.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.084 greater than one year ago. It has increased $1.017 since the start of the attack on Iran.
The national average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $4.099, one day after rising a half-cent. It is a half-cent lower than one week ago and 1 cent less than one month ago but 89.1 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price has increased $1.117 since the attack on Iran. It is at its highest amount this late in the calendar year, according to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, which provides real-time gas price information from more than 150,000 stations.
