One person was fatally injured and another suffered serious injuries Saturday from a crash involving a semi truck and SUV on state Route 60 in Moreno Valley.
The crash was reported at 2:45 a.m. near the Day Street exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The SUV went down the embankment, the CHP said.
Details of what led up to the crash were not available.
Two people were freed from the wreckage and taken to a hospital with serious injuries, where one of them later died.
All lanes of traffic were re-opened at 4:18 a.m., according to the CHP.
