A child was killed and another child and an adult were injured in a two-vehicle collision on the Moreno Valley (215) Freeway Wednesday in Riverside.
Officers from the Riverside California Highway Patrol were called at 12:33 a.m. to Blaine Street and the northbound 215 Freeway where they learned a semi had collided with a white Kia sedan, the CHP said.
According to the City of Riverside Fire Department, a child died at the scene, and another child was “severely injured.” An adult suffered moderate injuries.
The survivors were taken to a hospital for treatment. The name of the fatally injured child was withheld, pending notification of relatives.
The crash blocked four lanes of the freeway and the CHP issued a Sig Alert while it investigated the collision.
