The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose to its highest amount since Nov. 4 Sunday, increasing 1.9 cents to $5.396.

The average price has increased 44 times in 50 days, rising 55.4 cents, including 3.4 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose 31 consecutive days, dropped two of the following three days, rose five consecutive days, decreased the next two days and has increased seven of the past nine days and been unchanged twice.

The average price is 11.5 cents more than one week ago, 33.6 cents higher than one month ago and 15.5 cents above what it was one year ago. It has dropped 97.7 cents since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5.

The national average price rose four-tenths of a cent to $3.827, the third consecutive increase since a run of six decreases in seven days totaling 2.4 cents ended Thursday when it was unchanged.

The national average price is 1.5 cents more than one week ago and 10.3 cents higher than one year ago but one-tenth of a cent less than one month ago. It has dropped $1.189 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
