Products that were tossed into the county dump but still have value are available for sale every Saturday — and for bargain-basement prices — the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources announced Wednesday.
The agency invited residents throughout the Inland Empire and elsewhere to check out the “Found It Again Reuse Store” at the Lamb Canyon Landfill, located just off Highway 79, at 16411 Lamb Canyon Road, roughly halfway between Beaumont and San Jacinto.
“Found treasures that have been rescued from landfilling are available for reuse and can be purchased by credit card,” according to an agency statement. “Look for items like bicycles, tools, lawn equipment, exercise machines and other household goods. You get a great price, and we preserve valuable landfill space for future generations.”
The store is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Officials noted that visitors must check in at the Scale House that fronts the landfill before heading inside.
“Wear a high-visibility safety vest and closed-toe shoes while visiting the landfill,” the Department of Waste Resources said. “Load any materials purchased at the Found It Again Reuse Store, and secure or cover the load to prevent items from falling, spilling, or blowing out.”
