Forecasters are predicting temperatures at or near triple digits through Labor Day and into next weekend across Riverside County.

On Sunday, temperatures were expected to rise by a few degrees throughout the county, up from 90 to 110 a day earlier. A few degrees of cooling is expected in the deserts on Labor Day due to the possibility of an influx of monsoonal moisture, NWS forecasters said. However, the Riverside metropolitan area was expected to reach 101 and the Temecula Valley was expected to reach 97 by Labor Day.

By Wednesday, the entire county will reach triple digit temperatures that will rise a few degrees by Thursday and Friday, according to the NWS.

The Coachella Valley was expected to reach up to 113 Sunday, with light winds of up to 10 miles per hour. Similar triple digit temperatures are expected throughout the week.

The hot, dry weather will also create elevated fire conditions across the mountains, valleys and deserts this week.
