The Riverside County mountain areas can expected higher than normal temperatures through the weekend, but it’s supposed to be cooler Friday in other parts of the county.

The heat advisory for the mountains is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday with highs expected between 89 and 96 Friday. It will be in the mid 90s Saturday and Sunday.

A record high was reported in San Jacinto on Thursday. It was 106 in San Jacinto, breaking the record for the day of 103 set in 2020.

On Tuesday, it was 106 in San Jacinto, breaking the record for the day of 105 set in 2012. It was 98 in Idyllwild, breaking the record for the day of 93 set in 2020. It was 117 in Palm Springs, breaking the record for the day of 115 set in 1980. It was 117 in Indio, breaking the record for the day of 111 set in 2020.

Highs are expected to be around 100 Friday in the valleys and Inland Empire. It will be between 106 and 110 in the Coachella Valley.

Mountain communities can expect temperatures in the mid 80s to the mid 90s until Monday. Lows will be in mid 60s to mid 70s.
