The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Saturday for the 10th time in the last 11 days, ticking down one-tenth of a cent to $4.412.
The run of dropping prices follows a run of 11 increases in 12 days totaling 7.9 cents.
The average price is 3.2 cents less than one week ago, 1.6 cents less than one month ago and 93.4 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.961 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“We are entering the time of year when gasoline demand typically drops, and on Nov. 1, Southern California gas stations will be allowed to sell the winter-blend gasoline which is cheaper to produce and less expensive for consumers,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
The national average price dropped for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.136. It is 4.7 cents less than one week ago, 8.4 cents less than a month ago and 39.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.88 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
