A fire that erupted Monday in a Valle Vista mobile home park caused major damage to one of the units, displacing the seven occupants, all of whom escaped injury.
The blaze was reported just after 8 a.m. in a park on the east end of the unincorporated community, which is adjacent to Hemet, near the intersection of Orpington Avenue and Minorca Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that several engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames inside a double-wide mobile home, from which the occupants had safely evacuated.
Crews were able to contain the blaze within 15 minutes, but damage to the interior made it uninhabitable, officials said.
Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the victims with finding temporary alternate lodgings
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
