The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County ticked up one-tenth of a cent Sunday to $4.335.
The average price is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 8.3 cents lower than one month ago and 50.7 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.038 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“According to Oil Price Information Service, California gasoline inventories are up for three straight weeks, but fuel production is down compared to the previous week,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
“Thanksgiving travelers in Southern California will pay less to fill up for their trips than any Thanksgiving holiday since 2020.”
The national average price declined two-tenths of a cent to $3.056. It is 1.6 cents less than one week ago, 9.4 cents less than one month ago and 20.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.96 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
