The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Friday to its lowest amount since July 5, 2021, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.249.
The average price has dropped seven of the past eight days, decreasing 3.2 cents, including six-tenths of a cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped three consecutive days, rose a half cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 7.8 cents lower than one month ago and 28.8 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.124 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the fifth consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $3.05. It has increased 2.7 cents over the past five days, including 1.1 cents Thursday.
The national average price is 2.4 cents more than one week ago, but 1.6 cents less than one month ago and 4.7 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.966 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
